Natalia Gemperle brought Russia first to the finish in an exciting women’s race in which many mistakes were made. Maja Alm came up from fifth to second place for Denmark, and Finland finished with the bronze medals. This is Russia’s first-ever women’s relay gold.

The Norwegian team of Carl Godager Kaas, Olav Lundanes and Magne Dæhli ran very impressively throughout, holding a clear lead from the second control on leg 1 right through to the finish, to take the gold medals. Silver goes to Switzerland and bronze to Sweden.

At the end of Day 2 of the PreO competition, Martin Fredholm and Michael Johansson were the winners of the gold medals in the Open and Paralympic classes respectively. Both athletes repeated their excellent performances from the first day of this competition, tasting once more the sweet flavour of success.
